Before Christmas I did my first big singlespeed road test. From home I rode to Gloucester and back – just over 70 miles in 4 hours. It went well and I learnt a lot about pacing myself, fueling and rest breaks
Mark (aka T) (OTP ) is creating more big training routes for me and will be posted here shortly.
Mark T’s routes will be in addition to the normal fitness challenges I set myself, which include:
Ride my commuter singlespeed at full speed to and from work – just over 16 miles a day
Run with Ahab Williams (OTP) on Sunday nights – currently up to 8 miles – but I keep pushing the mileage up
Swim non stop for an hour on Friday nights with Buff (OTP) -I have just started this, so the swim duration / number of lengths will increase
Surf with the OTP boys as much as I can – February 2011 sees the Severn Bore attempt with Buff and T
Get to Wales as much as I can and chuck myself round Afan on the Ruckus singlespeed with Jim, Ahab and friends
Keep an eye on my training progress via my Twitter updates on the top right of the page.
Data from my Weston S Mare training ride – my tracker ran out of juice at 66miles but the ride totaled 75miles (via Keynsham, Bath and Kelston) – all that after a 3 day fast (no food)
